John T. Woodside was a banker and textile manufacturer of Greenville, S.C. The collection contains a presentation of Woodside's experiences and ideas, including descriptions of growing up in Greenville; working in stores there and in Birmingham, Ala., in the 1880s; involvement in the development of the textile industry and other businesses in South Carolina in the early 20th century; working with James Buchanan Duke (1856-1925); developing Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and life during the Depression.
